Los marcianos causen panicos

If you thought that mankind could no longer be fooled like they were in 1938, ask the people of South America who fled to the mountains when a Spanish version was broadcast, adapted to a South American setting. La Nación has a story on it, now hosted on this site.

The reaction to that broadcast was to burn down the radio station. It has been reported to me that at least two people lost their lives in the fire, but this has yet to be confirmed.
